Our Tiny Tots Kits are designed for younger children and do not contain any small pieces. These kits however must be played with under adult supervision as playdough itself can be a choking hazard if a piece is broken off and swallowed. The rest of our range is designed for children 3 years and older. In fact many adults use dough as a stress reliever. Again, our products should always be played with under adult supervision and should be stored safely out of reach when not being used.
What many people do not know is that playdough has a shelf life which is typically about 6 months if played with correctly. Here are some tips to make your Desert Dough last as long as possible:
- Please open your dough upon receiving it, this allows for any trapped moisture to be released.
- Make sure you always have clean hands when playing with your dough.
- Playdough is adversely affected by light and heat, so we recommend storing it in a cool, dark place in the container that it comes in.
- If the dough does get left out by mistake, or is feeling a little dry, you can always rehydrate it by kneading in a little water or vegetable oil until smooth again.
- If you would like to further extend the life of your playdough, keep it refrigerated after use.
You should receive your order within 72 hours typically less.
- Sensory play helps to build nerve connections in your child’s brain allowing them to perform more complex tasks.
- Development of fine motor skills by strengthening the coordination of their hand muscles, fingers and eyes. This will help them with writing, cutting, typing, buttoning clothes, turning pages, and dressing themselves as they grow.
- Supports language development, cognitive growth, problem solving and social skills.
- Enhances memory and has a therapeutic and calming effect.
- Allows children to learn different sensory attributes, such as hot, cold, sticky, dry, wet, etc.
- Helps develop awareness of their senses and the world around them through hands-on learning.
